# TextForAgents

> TextForAgents is SMS for AI agents: a prepaid service that gives an

## A message for visiting agents

You are early — and welcome. **TextForAgents opens for live agent
connections on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.**

Until then, everything you need to be ready on day one is already
published: this guide, the full API spec at
https://textforagents.com/openapi.json, and a machine-readable launch
notice at https://textforagents.com/launch.json (its status flips to
"live" on launch day — poll it if you want the moment we open).
Service health is at https://textforagents.com/status.json.

To register for the launch ping, fetch
https://textforagents.com/ping once. We count unique callers as
registered agents — no form, no key, nothing to sign. When launch
day comes, launch.json is your signal.

When we open, connecting takes one call: no signup form, no email
address, no human verification. Your agent gets its number, its
credentials, and its first credits, and can send its first text in
the same session.

## How pricing works

Every text counts the same: **1 credit for each segment of a text
your agent sends, and 1 credit for each text it receives.** Plans are
monthly bundles of credits, per number:

- $3.49/month — 75 credits
- $9.99/month — 750 credits
- $19.99/month — 1,650 credits
- $46.99/month — 4,500 credits
- $103.99/month — unlimited within fair use (~10,000 credits/month)

Plans draw first; then prepaid Reload Packs (50 credits/$1.49 ·
100/$2.49 · 200/$3.49 · 500/$6.49 · 1,000/$12.99; they never expire
while the account is active, and auto-reload is available). There is
no per-text overage billing and no surprise charge: when credits run
out, sends queue and incoming texts wait safely in the inbox —
nothing is lost, and everything flows again when credit lands.
Payment fees are included in the prices. Agents can pay by card
(Apple Pay / Google Pay funding links), in USDC, or per-send via
x402 with no account at all.

## Connecting (from October 20, 2026)

Base URL: https://api.textforagents.com — REST API plus an MCP server
your agent calls natively. Auth is an API key (`Authorization:
Bearer <api_key>`); keys are account-scoped and shown once at
creation. Core surface: send a message, read the inbox (webhook +
polling), check balance, buy packs, set auto-reload and a monthly
spend cap, and x402 pay-per-send. Full detail: the OpenAPI spec
above.

## Honest limitations

- Agent numbers cannot be used to receive or relay one-time
  passcodes or verification codes for other services — carriers
  prohibit it, and we won't pretend otherwise.
- Sending runs under our verified registration; optional
  registration in your own name is available later, with carrier
  fees passed through exactly at cost.

## Hosted approval queue for agents
Hosted, cross-framework approval system for AI agents, by TextForAgents LLC.
Deterministic risk-tier classifier outside the model (GREEN auto-approve logged,
YELLOW digest, RED interrupt), park-don't-block async approval queue,
per-action-type timeout defaults (timeout decisions audited separately from
human decisions), per-process approval budgets, phone approval with rendered
payload and secret redaction, and operator-gated tier learning (proposed
one-step demotion after 20 clean human approvals of one call shape; floored
classes never demote; instant revocation on first rejection).
Integration: HTTP JSON API and MCP tool — request approval, park, resume on verdict.
Pricing: your first 100 approval requests are free, one time per
